Who Is Anshul Jubli?
Anshul Jubli, also known as the “King of Lions,” is an Indian mixed martial artist hailing from the village of Bhatwari in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, India. He took birth on January 13, 1995.
Jubli initially aspired to join the Indian Army and prepared for the Combined Defense Service and Services Selection Board examinations.
However, in 2015, he was introduced to the world of mixed martial arts (MMA) at the recommendation of a friend.
He watched instructional videos of renowned MMA teacher Firas Zahabi Brazilian jiu-jitsu and MMA instructor John Danaher. Inspired by these teachings, he and his friend began mimicking the moves to learn the sport.
Given that his hometown lacked proper training facilities for MMA, Jubli decided to join the Crosstrain Fight Club in Delhi, which was an MMA club under the guidance of Siddharth Singh.
Before his MMA career, he completed his Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University and worked as a school teacher.
Notably, Anshul Jubli made history in Indian MMA by becoming the second Indian fighter to secure a contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), competing in the lightweight division.
He was not only the first Indian to win a UFC fight but also the second Indian fighter to compete in the UFC, following Bharat Khandare.

Anshul Jubli vs Mike Breeden Analysis
