The BJP has 10 councilors, and the Congress has seven councilors. Among these, there are seven female councilors from the BJP and five female councilors from Congress. There are three male councilors from the BJP and two male councilors from Congress.

Here are the key faces from the Congress and BJP:

  • Congress: Rajni Vyas, Savita Karki, and Neenu Sharma.
  • BJP: Tejendra Kaur, Santosh Sharma, Rekha Devi, Monica Pathania, and one more face.
  • In addition to this, for the Deputy Mayor’s position:
  • BJP: Onkar Nehria, Anuj Kumar, and Sarvachand Galotiya.
  • Congress: Anurag Kumar and Devendra Jaggi.

There is concern about cross-voting in the Mayor and Deputy Mayor elections. Sarvachand, who won as an independent candidate from Ward 16 and later joined the BJP, became the Deputy Mayor. This time, his name will be on the ballot, but if the BJP changes its candidate’s name, Sarvachand may also change sides.

It is noteworthy that Onkar Nehria was elected unopposed as the Mayor of the Dharamshala Municipal Corporation previously, while Sarvachand was elected Deputy Mayor.
